Ventures Startup Consultant | Sustainable Fashion will be responsible for working alongside one of the largest fashion brands globally and advising startups in the sustainable fashion space.

This person will be leading technical and business advisory services for helping sustainable fashion startups scale their business and technologies.

This person will work with innovative startups developing first-of-a-kind technology such as new têxtiles, recycling solutions, and more.

Responsibilities will include having a deep understanding of the company (team, market, technology, business model, etc), creating roadmaps for overcoming barriers to reach key milestones, and creatively generating value to aligned with the startups growth goals.


Essential Job Functions (not limited to):

  • Startup Due Diligence_
  • Gaining a deep understanding of Seed to Series B stage startups in the sustainable fashion, new têxtile, recycling space, and more
  • Develop an understanding of technical innovations at a fundamental level.
  • Understand technical barriers and technical needs for scaling the company.
  • Understand business models, pricing, and unit economics to provide insights on economic feasibility and scalability.
  • Market research and trends influencing sustainability fashion startups.
  • Advisory and Consulting_
  • Generate a roadmap for startups on how they scale their business to reach key milestones required for commercial adoption.
  • Provide technical and business insights for scaling deeptech companies.
  • Create summary reports and presentations for startups.
  • Generate and execute on ideas for bringing value to startups to help them scale
  • Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs
  • Build networks with relevant industry stakeholders
  • Ventures' Corporate Account Management_
  • Schedule checkin calls between startups and corporate partners
  • Maintain relationships with industry partners
  • Attend and lead regular alignment calls with corporate clients
  • Perform additional operational work for Plug and Play Ventures as needed.
  • Client Management_
  • Understanding client needs and organize and plan work accordingly
  • Performing the client work and collaborating with other highly qualified colleagues
  • Building presentations to summarize and deliver your research
  • Presenting conclusions to client

Technical & Job level skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in sustainability-related topics is required
  • Masters in Science, or the Energy fields is a plus
  • 5 years of experience in the entrepreneurial deeptech ecosystem helping startups scale through different phases of their journey (lab scale, pilot scale, demo scale, commercial scale). Experience as an entrepreneur or venture builder is a plus.
  • Ability to learn about scientific concepts and new technologies at a fundamental level
  • Knowledgeable about how deeptech innovation can scale, experience with scaling new materials and têxtiles is a plus.
  • Understanding of business and fundraising strategies, knowledge of debt financing is a plus.
  • Highly organized, shown to meet tight deadlines along with consistent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience interfacing with client executives and used to work in high paced and demanding environments
  • Advanced problemsolving skills and the ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively
  • Leadership abilities for working in teams.
  • Consultancy experience is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with materials/fashion têxtiles is a plus, but not required
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Office, CRMs, project management tools, etc
  • Advanced or Fluent English speaking and writing skills is a must

  • Selfmotivated and driven; proven to work independently, prioritize work, and achieve results
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with C-Suite executives
  • Collaborative, diplomatic, and can crossfunctionally partner with stakeholders across multiple offices
