SUMMARY:


Under the authority of the Episcopal Vicar (coordinator of all pastoral work, Francophone sector), the coordinator of the francophone Mission and Pastoral Services office is responsible for the development and implementation of all diocesan training for the francophone sector.


This role is carried out in close collaboration with the staff of the diocesan centre, including those of the anglophone sector.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of training for all francophone parishes:
  • Defines the training needs of the parishes according to the requests received from the parishes and/or in response to the orientations taken by the pastoral sector;
  • Ensures compliance with the annual budget dedicated to the training of the francophone pastoral sector;
  • Develops partnerships with training professionals to provide a range of training courses;
  • May participate in the creation of training programs to meet specific needs;
  • Promotes the training programs to the different parishes;
  • Organizes the full implementation of the training courses (participant registration, training venue booking, invoice management, etc.);
  • Accompanies parishes in the implementation of different training projects;
  • May lead or cofacilitate courses, workshops or other training activities;
  • Follows up on training results and analyses them with a view to recommending new orientations if necessary;
  • Ensures the traceability of the various training files (attendance sheets, documentation used for the activities and the various training courses, evaluation questionnaires, invoicing, etc.);
  • Presents the results to the pastoral coordinator during and at the end of the training courses;
  • Discerns training needs in the area of sacramental ministry, with a special focus on "restarters" in the diocese.
  • Supervises the secretariat of the diocesan francophone pastoral service and diocesan youth coordination:
  • Ensures a weekly follow-up with collaborators on the different topics to address;
  • Defines the priorities for the topics to address;
  • Collaborates with the pastoral coordinator in the elaboration of budgets and ensures followup;
  • Formulates and implements the operating procedures of the office and proposes improvements if necessary;
  • Is responsible for training new employees in working methods and the use of current software;
  • May provide administrative support when needed.
  • May work in conjunction with the editorial assistant on various projects.
  • Is required to represent the francophone pastoral sector on various diocesan committees.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A university degree in Theology, Scripture, Pastoral Care or evidence of significant experience in these fields is required.
  • Additional training or significant experience in training management is desirable.
  • Established experience in pastoral care and training and a desire to participate in the Mission of the Church.
  • At least two (2) to three (3) years' experience in a related position.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in French. Good knowledge of English oral and written language is required.
  • Ability for teamwork.

  • Recent criminal record check through the Archdiocese.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.

WORK CONDITIONS AND LOCATION

  • 1209 Michael Street, Ottawa, ON, K1J 7T 6 months fixterm contract Casual work environment
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work in an office environment with individual workstations
