ING is seeking an Associate for Financial Institutions
Your role and work environment:
We are searching for a skilled and passionate Associate to join our FI Sector Coverage Team at Wholesale Banking Spain & Portugal.
At ING Wholesale Banking Spain & Portugal, we handle the FI customer business for ING Spain & Portugal. Besides traditional FI coverage, we provide advice to our FI clients on sustainable and innovative financing solutions, always aiming to stay ahead of the curve.
Your key responsibilities:
- Support Senior Bankers in originating and executing new deals in Spain & Portugal and abroad with FI clients.
- Create commercial proposals, prepare long-term commercial plans, and participate in the preparation of commercial pitches under the guidance of a Senior Banker.
- Aid in credit proposals, negotiations of financing documents, and deal closing processes in collaboration with back-office and support functions.
- Collaborate with other teams such as Financial Markets, Syndications, Lending, Debt Capital Markets, M&A, Trade Finance, and Payments & Cash Management.
- Manage a portfolio of loan transactions, monitor operational and financial performance, present credit reviews, and contribute to credit, industry, and market analysis.
- Assist in various regulatory and general reporting requests, including Know Your Customer processes.
- Report commercial activity in the Relationship Management Tool (Salesforce), including the preparation of call reports and follow-ups on business opportunities.

- Degree in economics, business administration, or a related field.
- Proactive attitude with 2/3 years of professional experience in banking, corporate finance, or capital markets.
- Product and banking industry knowledge.

- Excellent presentation and communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Committed team player with attention to detail.
