Overview:

The Associate Director, Environmental Compliance and Sustainability holds the key role in Vantive's Environmental Compliance Strategy and execution, as well as sustainability strategy and goal execution. This role involves strategic leadership in developing and implementing environmental compliance policies, sustainability goals, and related program activities. The position also oversees crucial environmental technical projects across Vantive while managing internal and external resources effectively. The focus is on advancing global Environmental Programs proactively and promoting enterprise-wide EHS risk mitigation.

This position fosters collaborative partnerships, engages stakeholders, influences key business decisions, and operational strategies to ensure company success in meeting external sustainability commitments.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various teams within the company (Corporate Responsibility, Communications, Investor Relations, Legal, and others) to develop and maintain sustainability strategies
  • Lead the development, tracking, and reporting of sustainability goals, ensuring sustainability information is available for customer queries, RFPs, and tenders
  • Coordinate sustainability reporting and assess approaches to address sustainability regulations and industry practices
  • Support the development and execution of EHS&S standards, programs, and processes; drive functional vision, mission, policies, and strategies
  • Enhance environmental program strategies to ensure compliance, track metrics, and engage with businesses/sites on environmental projects
  • Identify EHS&S management gaps, implement corrective measures, and leverage data for continuous improvement
  • Communicate sustainability impacts to leadership and drive sustainability strategy forward

Qualifications:

• Experience managing multiple sophisticated assignments concurrently

• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a diverse environment

• Track record in developing and implementing strategies aligned with organizational goals

• Interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on teamwork

• Ability to analyze scientific and statistical data and present information effectively

• Understanding of manufacturing and operations processes, continuous improvement, and Green/Black Belt certification

• Up to 50% travel required


Education and Experience:

Minimum 15-20 years of professional experience in interpreting and applying regulations in a manufacturing environment

Minimum 10 years leading EHS compliance and governance functions, including people management

B.S. Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, or related field; M.S. Degree preferred

Understanding of global EHS legal requirements, best practices, and management systems

Experience with various sustainability regulatory programs and lean methodologies
