Accountant/Bookkeeper ITA/FRA based in Barcelona

Since its founding, they have significantly helped shape the fashion industry at an impressive scale, consistently spearheading some of the most important and successful campaigns and editorials over the last 30 years. With many long-standing relationships with the most influential fashion magazines and editors, they work with the most notable global brands/clients.

They are leading various initiatives inspired by the use of visual cues to advance narratives on the global climate crisis, leveraging their core skills of networking and creative communication on behalf of projects and organizations dedicated to climate action and the transition to the circular economy, involving creatives of all nationalities, races, genders, and faiths.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The person we are looking for will be responsible for accounting, tax duties, business control, and reporting. She/he needs to be familiar with legalities and accounting structure in France as he/she will propose how the office must be structured accounting-wise.

The position holder will have to be the most reliable connection between the local business and the corporate operation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  2. Reporting on the closings and company’s financial health and liquidity.
  3. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  4. Preparation of VAT and other French taxes & Italian taxes.
  5. Manage accounts receivable, following up on invoices when necessary.
  6. Bookkeeping for vendors: Book vendors properly with the right documentation, report vendor information to the government.
  7. Payroll and social security statements.
  8. Help establish company best practices related to accounting.
  9. Examine financial statements and records to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  10. Communicate regularly with the Accounting office.

Required skills and qualifications:

  1. 7 to 10 years of experience in an accounting role in a large company or an important accounting firm.
  2. High knowledge of IFRS standards and understanding of US GAAP standards.
  3. Familiarity with legalities and accounting structure in France to ensure adherence to applicable local and national regulations.
  4. Good communication skills to interact with staff, providers, and clients.
  5. Able to work in a complex organization.
  6. Detail-oriented.
  7. High level of Excel proficiency.
  8. Able to work autonomously.
  9. Full professional proficiency in both French and English.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  1. Experience in media, communication, creative, advertising, or fashion industry would be a plus.
  2. Knowledge and experience working with producers and production accounting.
