As a Head of Data Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Lead the Data & Analytics platform efforts collaborating with Data Scientists and Engineers to deliver reliable and scalable analytics solutions.
  2. Frame and evolve the data strategy, architecture, governance, and infrastructure.
  3. Model the enterprise & external data catering to the evolving needs of growth stage enterprise.
  4. Design & build frameworks including but not limited to ingestion, processing, observability.
  5. Collaborate with Business teams and Customers in designing and developing scalable features on the Data & Analytics platform.

A successful Head of Data Engineer should have:

  1. Demonstrated experience as a Lead Data Engineer preferably in one or more of Lending, Banking, Insurance, Retail domains (10 - 15 years experience).
  2. Deep understanding of technology fundamentals and experience with languages like Python, Java, and experience with SQL, NoSQL, File System data stores.
  3. Demonstrated experience in design and development of big data solutions involving distributed storage, map reduce, and familiarity with DataOps, MLOps.
  4. Commendable skills in building data products, by integrating large sets of data from multiple internal and external sources.
  5. A nuanced understanding of code quality, maintainability, and practices like Test Driven Development.
  6. Ability to deliver an application end to end; having an opinion on how your code should be built, packaged, and deployed using CI/CD.
  7. Understanding of Cloud platforms, DevOps, GitOps, Containerisation.
