About the location:The Four Seasons Resort Mallorca is perched on the spectacular Formentor Peninsula and backed by panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean and the surrounding landscapes, the hotel was originally opened in 1929 within an expansive private estate. Currently undergoing restoration and renovation, this stunning historic property is scheduled to open its doors as a Four Seasons resort in June 2024.

About Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor:

The Four Seasons Resort Mallorca is perched on the spectacular Formentor Peninsula and backed by panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean and the surrounding landscapes, the hotel was originally opened in 1929 within an expansive private estate. Currently undergoing restoration and renovation, this stunning historic property is scheduled to open its doors as a Four Seasons resort in mid-2024.

The resort will have a total of 109 rooms and suites, culinary experiences, including a signature restaurant, a beachfront restaurant and café, and a poolside bar and grill, events space, spa and fitness facilities, direct access to the beach, adult pool access to the beach, adult pool and vitality pool, Kids for All Seasons, and a wine tasting experience in the vineyards.

The Role of Purchasing Supervisor

We currently have an opportunity for a Purchasing Supervisor, to join our pre-opening Four Seasons Hotel Mallorca at Formentor, Spain

Reporting into the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the hotel purchasing strategies and assisting the Purchasing Manager in the following areas:

Maintain harmonious and professional relationship with all departments to promote effective purchasing

Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Politics, procedures, standards and code of conduct.

Keep appropriate close contacts with business partners and keep constantly up to date with latest product and market information.

Supervise, train and motivate the Purchasing Department members to thoroughly understand all their duties and responsibilities.

Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards as they relate to the Purchasing Department are complied with.

Ensure proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel-specific purchasing.

Great attention to detail along with a continuous innovation of daily working of the Purchasing team under the direction of the Purchasing Manager.

Coordinate and facilitate external and internal audits.

Ensure that all purchase order requests are properly documented and accounted for, completed and approved before a purchase order is prepared and the items are purchased.

Assist Accounts Payable Clerk in researching any discrepancies on invoices.

Complete the corporate annual operating equipment and supply requirements with the corporate Purchasing Department and the appropriate hotel department heads, including quarterly review and update of annual forecasts.

Conduct frequent quality control audits to ensure staff is properly trained and following established procedures.

Continuously strive for improvement of processes and efficiency.

Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

Our Ideal Assistant Purchasing Supervisor will have:

Candidates must speak read and write Spanish as well as being fluent in English.

Must have the right to work in Spain.

Proven leadership skills in a hotel environment.

Highest level of integrity and transparency.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution and strategic-thinking skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, effective presentations and to facilitate meetings.

Serve as a role model for others by demonstrating appropriate business conduct and ethical principles.

Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.

Require a working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Four Seasons Internal Controls, Policies and Procedures and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting, Purchasing and Food & Beverage control. Working knowledge is generally learned on the job or through a series of professional certifications.

Require knowledge of and the ability to operate computer equipment and Microsoft Office Suite software.

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Good knowledge of the Four Seasons internal controls, policies and procedures.

Strategic, analytical and have solid business acumen.

Clear understanding of the purpose and reasons for internal controls

Understand and be familiar with hotel quality standards and service standards
