Perform the functions of Analyst in the Quoting and Pricing department, to obtain and use the costs to be applied in the areas of maritime and air cargo.

You will be part of a group with attitude, vision, energy, professionalism and creativity. You will be an active part in the department, and you will interact with the product and sales departments, mainly, when required.

You will maintain compliance with Expeditors policies and procedures while demonstrating and communicating the goals and culture of Expeditors.

Pricing Agent Core Competencies

This section lists the core business-critical skills, knowledge and behavior applicable to all Pricing Agent globally.

  • Respond effectively to requests for quotes from the network, non-strategic customers and special requirements from the product and sales departments.

  • Update the quotes made in a timely manner.

  • Maintain fluid communication with your colleagues, contribute ideas and different points of view, which make for teamwork and continuous improvement.

  • Assist in the analysis of the department's data, working on its updating and maintenance, together with department PIC.

  • Identify opportunities and challenges.

  • Provide full costs to respond to RFQs in a timely manner. You will keep track of the different rounds of the assigned RFQs.

  • Present solutions and meet the deadlines requested by clients and the global network, to respond to the needs of each case.

  • Monitoring of the quotes sent and obtaining a response on them, to feed the system and enable precise data control, which allows us to ensure and improve our competitiveness and effectiveness.               

     

Running RFQ:

  • Respect the format sent by Regional in global RFQs, effectively inserting and integrating local costs, both import and export (air and sea).

  • Manage responses and keep track of them.

  • Maintain communication according to the Document Retention Policy (DRP).

     

Analysis of quotes made:

  • Report the results of the monitoring of the contributions made and subsequently analyze the data with the department in weekly meetings.

  • Together with the department director, work with service providers to keep rates up-to-date and competitive:

  • Maintenance of rates and surcharges

  • Maintain databases of rates and contracts.

  • Keep updated information on surcharges.

  • General support to the department and coverage in sick leave or vacation periods.

  • Request special costs when required.

  • Provide general support to the sales and product departments, when necessary.

  • Work with assigned carriers and keep track of current market conditions.

  • Secondary studies or equivalent required

  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel and familiarity with PowerPoint and Power Bi)

  • Fluent English & Spanish

  • Ability to multitask and set priorities during the workday while remaining focused and organized

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and action.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Analytical with great attention to detail.

  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to listen, understand, and communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner for positive results.

  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • Willing to collaborate and help on last minute projects and help team members. Work ethic and reliably, respect and good treatment.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
