Job Description:

The Construction Planner plays a crucial role in efficiently managing construction projects. Their primary responsibility is to develop and maintain detailed work schedules that guide the progress of construction from inception to completion. Working closely with the project management team, engineers, architects, and contractors, the Construction Planner coordinates the sequence of activities and resources to ensure that projects are completed within the scheduled time and allocated budget.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed construction schedules that include activity sequencing, key milestones, and required resources.
  2. Collaborate with the project management team to establish realistic timelines and achievable goals.
  3. Monitor and regularly update work schedules to reflect changes in project scope, resource availability, and any other factors affecting planning.
  4. Identify and resolve potential scheduling conflicts to minimize delays and optimize efficiency.
  5. Analyze schedule performance against established milestones and provide regular progress reports on the project.
  6. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services as required by the construction schedule.
  7. Utilize project management software and scheduling tools to facilitate project planning and tracking.
  8. Participate in team meetings and provide technical advice on scheduling and construction planning issues.

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
    2. Previous experience in planning and scheduling construction projects.
    3. Strong knowledge of project management software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
    4. Analytical skills and ability to problem-solve.
    5. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
    6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
    7. Understanding of project management and construction principles.
    8. Relevant certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Construction Planning and Scheduling (CPS) certification, are preferred but not required.
