The overarching strategic goal of UNICEF’s Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD) is to transform and build partnerships with our stakeholders to successfully implement UNICEF programs globally through innovative technology-enabled solutions.

UNICEF is going through an exciting digital transformation that will influence the work of the entire organization. As part of this transformation, UNICEF has opened a new ICTD Digital Core office in Valencia, Spain to execute ICTD’s digital strategy across all UNICEF locations globally.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is looking for an intern to support the HR Team at Information Communication Technology Division (ICTD). The Intern will have the opportunity to learn about UNICEF’s mission, its various programs, and how it operates globally, while being exposed to working in an international environment. This role will further develop analytical and transactional skills while allowing participation in interesting initiatives.

The Intern will support onboarding, data analytics, event organization activities in ICTD. The Intern will also assist with communications about HR topics, the maintenance of the HR internal Sharepoint pages and any ad hoc reporting.

The intern will be responsible for assisting in HR event organizations such as induction programmes and will help to organize information about learning activities.

This May Involve

Support the Onboarding activities by coordinating with different stakeholders, keeping track and scheduling the Onboarding sessionsSupport HR events such as coordinating the ICTD InductionSupport the HR data analysis and ad hoc reportingSupport coordination of meetings and workshops as neededDraft HR communicationsAssist the HR Manager with coordinating learning opportunities for staffAssist with the Sharepoint pages of the HR TeamOther support activities, to be determined

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Current or recent (graduated in the last 2 years) enrollment in a university programme in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics or other related areaAbility to work 40 hrs/week in Valencia, Spain.Fluency in English is required, Spanish knowledge would be an assetKnowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of software such as but not limited to virtual tools and MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Power BI.Communication - Effectively presents thoughts and ideas including complex technical concepts, in a clear, concise, and readily understood manner, both verbally and in writing. Listens to and acknowledges others' perspectives and viewsFlexibility - Works effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously and adapts to changing demands and circumstancesGood communication and interpersonal skills – able to work well in a team environmentStrong attention to detail with solid planning and organization skillsClient-OrientationCommitment and drive for results

Contract Duration and Terms

The duration of this internship is for 6 months Individuals must fund their travel and living expenses in ValenciaIndividuals must have proof of medical insurance covering their time at the duty stationIndividuals are personally responsible for obtaining any required visa or residence permit, covering the entire period of their internshipInternships are paid a monthly net stipend of EUR 800.00 per month for full-time arrangements (40hrs/week), which will be prorated according to attendance. Work arrangements are based on the effective regulations of the duty station, organizational needs and schedules of the internsInterns may take up to 2.5 days per month off work for any reason, including for medical reasons. The stipend will be reduced for any absence beyond this quota.

Remarks

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
