The Digital Foundation & Infrastructure Core Infrastructure team is part of the Business Unit Service and consists of a group of dedicated employees. The team is responsible for the IT platform used for our SCADA platform.

How to contribute to our vision:

For our Core Infrastructure team within the Service Business Unit, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated Infrastructure Specialist for introducing new IT-technical solutions.

As an Infrastructure Specialist you are responsible for the server hardware platform, which is used for the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SCADA system. You will be a part of a team which operates in a busy and rapid changing environment. It is therefore a requirement that you can handle and cope with many parallel ongoing tasks.

Some of the tasks and responsibilities you can expect to be involved in include:

Optimization of industrial servers/computers and other equipment as Storage and UPS.

Windows Server 2019, Linux distributions and VMware.

Optimization of security solutions on our platforms

Automation of installation through PowerShell or Chef.

Component owner tasks – test, verification, documentation and release of Hardware, firmware and software releases

Create documentation, training material, procedures, and processes

Additionally, you might participate on 2/3 Level support for IT technicians located in Onshore, Offshore and Service.

What you need to make a difference:

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are looking for you, who wants to make real what matters and who wants to change the world to renewable energy.

The ideal candidate has a background as data technician or a degree within computer science or engineering, combined with thorough practical experience with the following:

We expect you to have in depth knowledge on virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), server hardware, server operating systems (Microsoft/Linux), scripting (PowerShell/Bash) as well as knowledge on automating infrastructure with products like Chef (Ruby) or Ansible (Python). Knowledge of storage- and backup solutions, database solutions (MS SQL/ MySQL), UPS solutions would be an advantage. IT/OT security must be a high priority for you, and you have knowledge on different security products eq. (Antivirus, Firewalling, advanced endpoint protection). Knowledge about SAFe and PI planning would be a plus.
