We are looking for one of our biggest clients a R&D Senior Project Manager to act as their new member of the Project Management team. 

For an international biopharmaceutical company based in Barcelona. This company research, develop, manufacture and commercialize their own medicines as well as a portfolio of licensed products tailored to the needs of different therapeutic areas. Today, their products are available in over 70 countries on 5 continents through 15 subsidiaries.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Manage complex projects/programs (multiple targets, phase II and phase III, over 10M Eur annual budget)
  • Coordinates with Project Leader defining the strategic plans and scenarios internally and with the partner.
  • Provide inputs to the strategic discussions within the team and the Project Leader
  • Act as back-up of the Project Leader when needed.
  • Monitors and analyzes project critical path, timelines, budget expenses and actions to meet project goals. 
  • Looks beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems in areas critical to the achievement of objectives.
  • Ensures delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the organization.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and promptly resolves discrepancies in priorities, plans and activities:  bring analytical thinking to the team discussions, particularly in cross-functional issues.
  • Manages project communication, sets agendas, facilitates meetings, develops minutes, and ensures right distribution of project information in the organization.
  • Facilitate team dynamics in coordination with the Project Leader (System Coach)
  • Reports and presents project plans, risk management activities and budget aspects to decision making bodies.
  • Develops the budget and regular forecasts of the project (annual, 5YF, Long term)
  • Leads the process to access public funding of all or part of the project.
  • Coordinates project due diligence with possible partners. Oversight BD&L development plans.
  • Coordinate, mentor and advise Project Managers and Project Manager Associates.
  • Ensures proper Alliance management of the project, from candidate to phase II stage and collaborate with Corporate Alliance manager from phase III onwards.
  • Participates in all activities within the R&D Project, Portfolio, Partnership Excellence Department as required.
  • Contributes to the regular R&D Portfolio Review exercise.
  • Maintains and exploits R&D productivity benchmarking data.

- Outside R&D (Marketing including New Product Planning, GMA, Market Access and Industrial Area)

External:
-    Partners of in-licensed products (prior to MAA/NDA) and of out-licensed projects
-    Government, public administration- Project advisors
Education:
-    Bachelor’s or Ph.D. degree on biomedicinal or scientific careers. 
-    Certification in Project Management (achieved or working to achieved it)
Specific Knowledge
 Previous experience in R&D within the pharmaceutical industry (more than 3 years)
-    Previous experience as R&D Project manager (at least 3 years)
-    Deep understanding of the overall R&D process and broad knowledge of all disciplines involved.
-    Analytical and synthetic skills. Ability to simplify complex situations.
-    Self-motivation and resilience under pressure Organisational and prioritisation skills.
-    Presentation skills, with the ability to adjust according to audience.
-    Proficient in spoken and written English
-    Experience with planning tools
-    Computer tools (user level)
