We are now looking for a

Junior Diver

to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent and the preferred location is Alboraya, Spain.

What you will be doing

At Burriel Navarro SLU (a Wärtsilä company included in Shaft Line Solutions – Underwater Services) we carry out all kinds of maritime and port services, including crew services, bathymetry and data collection, as well as professional underwater jobs. As a Junior Diver you will be part of our Team of Divers and will participate in all kinds of underwater works: Underwater inspections and repairs, underwater maintenances, etc.

In this position, your job will mainly be in the Port of Valencia and working hours will normally run from Monday to Friday, with a maximum of eight hours continued. However, due to the nature of the role as well as the services we provide, the flexibility to work outside these central hours and during weekends is essential. Also, you should be available to travel to other ports, or other countries.

As Junior Diver, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

Participate in all kinds of underwater works: Underwater inspections and repairs, underwater maintenances, etc., being supervised by a top-level diver.

To carry out the maintenance of underwater machinery and tools, being supervised by a top-level diver.

You will shine in this role, when you have:

Certificate of Professional Diver according to Spanish rules (Medium Depth Diving Technician, or Technician in Underwater and Hyperbaric Operations, or other professional diving qualification recognized by the Spanish government).

Updated Medical Examination for Professional Diver.

Book of professional underwater activities of the Valencian Community (Spain)

Flexibility to work outside of core day shift hours is essential (e.g. evenings and weekends).

Flexibility to travel to other Ports or Countries.

Additionally, having the following qualifications will be considered an advantage:

Book of professional underwater activities of other Spanish autonomous communities.

Certificate of First Aid at Work / CPR-AED for Commercial Diving delivered in accordance with ERC European Resuscitation Council and currently first aid practice for professional divers.

Certificate of Oxygen Provider for Commercial Diving delivered in accordance with ERC European Resuscitation Council and currently first aid practice for professional divers.

Certificate of Basic Training in Maritime Safety (issued by the Spanish General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, according to the provisions of the International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978 as amended).

Updated Medical Examination for Sea-service in accordance with ILO MCL 2006 and IMO STCW 78 (as amended) and RD 1696/2007, December 14th, maritime shipping medical examinations.

Certificate in Occupational Risk Prevention, according to Spanish standards.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Driving license and own vehicle.
