Role Purpose
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Drive, develop and implement strategies for the digitalization of controlled-environment (CE) based plant breeding. Design and operate smart sensor systems from proof-of-concept to scale to drive operational efficiency and support data-driven decision-making using sensor networks for environmental monitoring.Translate sensor and weather service data into insights about the right sensor and sensor setup to choose for future environmental characterization.Deliver project results as part of an overall project plan and ensure seamless integration of technology, operations, algorithms and data flow with the IT infrastructure and standardized procedures
Accountabilities
Lead the implementation of digital environmental monitoring technology strategies and projects through implementation and deployment of automized sensor-based monitoring systems with a special focus on controlled-environmentsIntegrate and optimize technology development in interaction with IT/R&D-ITClosely interact with Plant Breeders, Data Science, IT, and OperationsBe an active member of any relevant global network of experts, common interest groups with relevant functions to coordinate key technology advancements and promote sharing of best practice while continue to drive standardization for machinery and other equipment.Collect and integrate the different data sources into one database for data analysisCompare sensor data coming from different sensor sources and databases (descriptive analysis)
