Our opportunity

 

At Zurich Insurance we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Falcon team. What does the Falcon team do? As a team of 11 diverse and international individuals they work together on portals and apps for customers of our retail insurance products and services. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous testing and quality assurance processes.

 

 

Your role

 

As a QA Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to identify software defects and ensure that they are resolved before product release
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure that testing activities are aligned with project timelines and objectives
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using defect tracking tools, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution
  • Participate in requirement and design reviews to provide input on testability, test coverage, and quality improvements
  • Monitor and analyze test results, and provide regular status reports to project stakeholders
  • Continuously improve and streamline testing processes and methodologies
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members

 

 

Your Skills and Experience

 

As a QA Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

 

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbally
  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (Postman, Apium, Playwright)
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications are a plus
