We’re hiring a Inventory Planner - Europe

Purpose

The Inventory Planner is responsible for controlling inventory-related activities for seed in the European region. As part of the regional Seed Production and Supply Chain team, the Inventory Planner will have responsibility to ensure accuracy of physical and financial inventory forecasts and write-downs, defining appropriate inventory buffering strategies, understand and optimize inventory health, drive streamlined systems and reporting.

The Inventory Planner will work closely with Business data Stewards to define and develop appropriate KPIs and metrics to measure and track success of the above activities.

The Inventory Planner is accountable for ensuring accurate, reliable, and predictable data and intelligence regarding physical and financial inventory through the planning, production, processing, allocation, sales, return, and discard phases. The role will require significant interface with production, quality supply, sales, finance, and accounting colleagues across the enterprise. The scope includes all European product lines.

He/She will have to make sure Inventory is always optimized and staged at the right place during the season.

The Inventory Planner will manage assigned processes from inception through completion and review, ensuring that business needs are met and risk exposure is minimized. Identify problems, initiate corrective actions, and maintain regular communications with multiple groups inside and outside SPSC. Develop and implement consistent business process improvements and systems that enhance Supply Chain ability to develop and execute plans. Participate on or lead cross-functional teams and assist various personnel with a wide range of analytical applications to improve the integration of the supply process with the processes of other departments within Corteva.

The Inventory Panner report to Operations and Systems Manager with functional guidance from Quality Supply Leader and Supply Chain Manager.

Responsibilities

Establish and monitor KPIs for Plant/QS teams regarding accuracy and completeness of SAP inventory (Seed and not Seed)

Contribute in defining requirements to finetune “Inventory Health” dashboard(s) to increase transparency and visibility on regional inventory and prioritizing HFFO (High Focus First Out) approach (Seed and not Seed)

Drive the monthly, quarterly, and yearly write-down estimation process, coordinating with the Marketing, Finance, and Accounting teams throughout the process

Identify and track all batch-level surplus or slow moving units and coordinate with Marketing, Demand Planning and Sales on effective strategies to deal with them in order to minimize discard and inventory write downs

Support QS Leader to identify and track all marginal quality units and provide appropriate recommendations for how do deal with them

Provide recommendations for carry-over strategy to supply planning based on known inventory risks

Provide support for opportunity, surplus, or special sales offerings

Ensure accurate inventory characterization in all plants

Ensure return policy is implemented and respected by SCM and local QS teams

Ensure processes and procedures are well documented

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

Bachelor’s Degree.

MBA or Master’s degree desirable or other supply chain credentials preferred.

Being familiar with ETL tools such as Alteryx, Dremio, Tableau Prep

Being familiar with reporting and data visualization tools as Tableau, Power BI

7-10 years’ professional experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in supply chain.

Experience in agribusiness desirable.

Knowledge of seed characterization and parameters;

Experience in production costing and forecasting;

Ability to work in an office environment and/or travel as required.

Strong experience with SAP and BW

Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Ability and comfort working with large and complex datasets.

Proactive and able to work independently.

Ability to prioritize work, work under time constraints and under pressure.

Ability and experience in a highly international work environment.

Ability to influence and motivate across functions and reporting lines.

Customer orientation.

Strong communications skills, both written & verbal.

Fluency in English. One additional relevant language preferred.
